Seyi Law has claimed that he lost over 200,000 followers because he declared support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 electioneering period.

The controversial comedian disclosed this when he appeared in a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast co-hosted by OAP Nedu, Toun Cole and Husband Material.

Seyi Law, however, said that he did not see the loss as a problem because he believed that what he was doing by backing Tinubu was coming from the right place.

The comedian said; “I lost over 200,000 followers because of the election which for me, is not a problem. The most important thing is that whatever you do, try as much as possible to draw that you’re doing it from the right place.

Whatever you do, are you sure that you are doing it from the right place? Is it fair to those concerned? If you’re not being fair, don’t do it.”

CorrectNG recalls that Seyi Law whose real name is Oluwaseyitan Aletile, cleared the air regarding claims that he campaigned for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the last election.

The comic act said he only declared support for Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who was his choice at the polls.

He denied asking Nigerians to vote for his candidate, adding that it is unjust for people to keep dragging him over the economic hardship.

According to the entertainer, he campaigned for the president due to his track record of leadership as the governor of Lagos State.

Seyi added that he is always in talks with the son of the president, Seyi Tinubu, over some of the issues Nigerians are facing.

Seyi Law said; “I never said ‘vote for Tinubu’. Go and check. I write the things that I know he did in Lagos, and I will put ‘Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is my candidate or is who I am voting for.’ I didn’t tell you to vote for him. And again, Seyi Law did not make the 8.9 million that voted for him. I am just a number among those numbers.

“Yes, do I have influence over some people? Maybe. I used my influence for what I believed in. And I believe that this person [Tinubu] is the person that would take us to that Nigeria that I want us to be.”
